Good things in the jk?
The good things start at the front bumper and end at the spare tire. The only real problem I can even think of is the fact that DC makes the entire JEEPs operation dependent upon the computer. HUGH MISTAKE. JEEPS need to be built on the K.I.S.S. principal. If DC wants / needs to use the computer to meet emissions standards...that's acceptable, but I'm not sure running the dome light with the computer is all that bright (pun intended)! Take care guys... Mike
1. Tons of room
2. Four doors - i got a family and now we can all go
3. Hard top design and construction is outstanding - who else makes a convertible 4x4
4. Solid axles - thankyou DC, the only one left
5. Locking axles - bam
6. Endless aftermarket - whole entire catalogs dedicated to Jeeps
7. ESP - yeah I know, but on balance, I like the safety factor, esp since its my DD
8. Manual transfer case - the rotary switch is just not cool
9. Looks tough as hell and is always complimented
10. Amazing 4x4 performance - the botton line

I love to drive my JK because it is the one vehicle I can parallel park. Could not do that with my crew cab Chevy 4x4. We have had CJ's, a YJ, and a TJ and I think the interior is getting better. I could do without the gaudy bumpers, but that is just me. Figure I will just "accidentially" tweak them so I can justify replacing them.
I heard all these bad things as well, but I have been very happy thus far. I don't think the interior plastic is as cheap as many people have complained (mine hasn't scratched at all), I think the power is adequate, my MyGig system is working fine, and so on and so on. Thus far, I haven't experienced many of the problems. I did have one small leak in the hardtop, but the dealer reseated the seal and so far so good.
The thing to remember about this forum (and all the others) is that maybe 95% of the posts are about things that people don't like. The "bitch-to-brag" ratio is way lopsided!
I am extremely pleased with my JK. It's an incredibly capable off-road vehicle when stock, and just gets better as you customize. And I think it's a damn comfortable (and fun) street rig, too!
One more thing - buy what you like, not what somebody else likes, and customize to suit yourself, not the bozos in the forums.

The JK's are great vehicles and great fun! Be careful making your decision on what you read on these forums. Some of it is just due to the fact people who have issues go looking for answers and are very vocal about their problems. I have not had any major issues and often times i just sit back and read about others issues and don't post about anything because I cannot contribute at all....
Yeah atlast i can read this thread now, and love my jeep. Its the coolest thing and i really love it. Its powerful with the 6speed and you can drive high speeds in it on long distances because its very comfortable. In offroad even if i don't have experience i laugh on others who are stuck. Its very beautiful inside and out and it has the "jeep thing". Great really great car and had no trouble with it and it looks like i won't. Great just great.
