Hey all, thought I'd drop in.
I don't own a JK yet, but I've got my eye on two sahara unlimiteds that two different local dealers have. The only thing holding me back is the fact that I'm in the market for buying a house, and I don't want a car loan showing up during the process.
Few questions for ya'll though. I'm about to move to Montana (I'm in the Air Force), how well does the JK put up with cold? I've heard rumors of temps down to 30 below, and I'm not sure how the relatively thin outer layer of the roof insulates from that.
Also, my biggest concern is breakages. I would rather be spending money on modding things rather than fixing them. I have gotten myself a little scared over the cracking windshield issues, how likely is it that I'm going to face this on a frequent basis?

Not sure about temps 30 below but the tops are very good and the heater pumps out some good heat.
As far as the windshield just get insurance that covers it 100% then you will not have to worry about that.

The heater will keep you warm once the engine warms up. My sister lives outside of Bozeman at 6000 ft and the temp can get down to 30 below. She had a remote start installed in her Tahoe to get it warmed up w/o having to go outside. She loves it. Get the windsheild insurance lots of rocks get popped up off the dirt roads
