Question Grinding noise when on beach..

Hey guys,

Was wondering if anyone has heard this one... When im on the beach, regardless of 4 wheel drive on/off, I go through particulalry deep/rough sand I head a slight grinding..or maybe grating... noise from my front left tire area. It happens when I am going over 10 mph, and only when i try to turn, or when the sand pulls the jeep into a different rut. It is not a constant noise, only when there seems to be strain at the time... typically lasts 1.5-2 secs. It is a weird noise, and i can see no signs of wear/tear on tires or drivetrain/suspension. I have also checked the fluid level on the front axle, and it is clear/fine. It is a 2007 model w 40k miles, and light 4 wheel drive use...sadly... lol.. I have a 2.5 skyjacker lift with nitto terragrappler tires that are one size taller than stock. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Agreed, Does the grinding sound like the abs going off? If that one tire is constantly losing traction it can be applying the brakes through the abs system
