I want to get a hard top and I have a 2010 Wrangler Unlimited X 4 door, (YELLOW)... How many types are there out there and would anyone recomend one over the other.

Not to many options out there really. You have your Mopar factory option (either black for $2300 new, or color matched yellow for i cant remember but want to say over $3,000)..The other option out there is the wildboar fastback hardtop for about 4-5K new, cant remember exactly. Those would be your two best options. advantages are that the mopar top has the freedom pannels on the front, I know wildboar fastback top is one sold piece (cannot remember if they have a freedom panel/targa top option). There are going to be a few others that make a hard top option out there but those are your two primary options.

 

Yep, right now, there are very few types of hardtops and they are pricey. I have the factory freedom top I got with my Jeep for the $735 option, I figured it would be cheaper to get the hardtop with the Jeep and buy a Trektop or some soft top down the road. You may be able to find a used one, but even used run in the $1,500-2K range for a decent one.

 

I just put my Hardtop back on this morning after 8 months. I'm seriously depressed. Summer is officially over for me. :(

 

Sorry dont mean to hijack the thread but was Thinking of buying a hardtop for my 2011 kinda looking at a used one but not sure what year its from... Are all hardtops the same from 07-12 or are they different?

 

I think 2010-12 are slightly different because the windshield angle design was changed.

 

All JK hardtops will fit any year JK, but the 2010 and up ones had bigger windows. I don't know if the wiring and rear washer is exactly the same though... The 2011 version is slightly different than my 07 and 08 ones, it seems heavier duty and has moulded hand (finger) holds on the sides, plus it came with a nice storage bag for the panels. The middle latch on the front was moved forward to hook on the middle of the windshield.
