It's never been an issue for me, just keep everything out of sight and lock your center console. I think the right to carry helped a lot in this area.

I was having lunch on a sidewalk patio last summer with some of my friends with my Jeep parked in eyesight about 50 feet away. Group of kids walked by, one of them threw a gum wrapper into my Jeep with the doors off and top down. When they came up on me, I acted like I knew the kid, and embarrassed the shit out of him in front of his buddies.

Me - Hey buddy whats up? (very nice smile and good mood)
Kid - Hey hows it goin? (confused look)
Me - Is that your Jeep? (acting very nice)
Kid - No? (red face)
Me - Then go back to it, grab the fucking garbage you threw into it, and put it in your pocket. (stern face with my buddies staring him down)
Kid - Oh, I'm so sorry sir! Sorry! I won't do it again! (extremely embarrassed)

Yes, the kid actually walked back, grabbed it, and put it in his pocket with all his friends laughing at him, hardcore. He left in shame.

Although it was funny, I also never keep anything of value inside my Jeep. Everything is bolted down, or it goes with me.

With things are the way they are now-a-days...I wouldn't trust anyone. Sadly. It also depends a lot on where you live.

Good luck, and have fun out there.

That's awesome!!

One thing I do is just take everything out. Even registration and insurance. Leave glove box and center consol open so they can open it to find nothing instead of breaking it. Parking tags are the only thing to chance. I park at a university so I park where there is low pedestrian traffic flow between SUVs. If u have a tuffy use that. I have a locker at our gym so I keep everything in there. Nothing so far but I only had doors off for a week lol

My jeeps has been broken into twice with my doors and top on, never touched with it naked. My thought is that a thief assumes there's nothing valuable in a vehicle purposely left vulnerable. I realize that may not always be true but it's worked so far.

I always put everything loose away and lock my console and glove box. Worst that could happen would be trash in my cab or someone sitting in my jeep. I also have a viper alarm w/motion sensor in the cab and shock sensors all over the body.

just dont leave anything in the jeep (suglasses, Ipod , aux cord..... nothing) Had the top down on mine, just the top, and some ass hole climed over the back leaving boot prints on my seat and crawled all the way to the front and stole my Ipod out of the locked console. The worst part is its was at my condo complex which is right on a main drag and is literaly 3 min. from the police station. They also broke into a tj in my comlex and cut the rear window. My best advice for you leave the console unlocked and leave nothing in the jeep when going door/topless .

I caught a guy go through my TJ when I parked it downtown one day, had the soft top on so the doors were unlocked, I didn't leave anything valuable in there so I wasn't worried, but man did the guy ever run fast when I started yelling at him to get out of my Jeep.

I already had my JK gone through in my own driveway at night, once again door unlocked, nothing of value, just came out in the morning to find my glovebox open and center console open.

Knock on wood, nothing every taken from my JK.

A friend of mine used to own a soft top TJ and live in Boston. He'd leave the doors on and top up, but leave the doors unlocked and keep both the glove box and center console open when he'd park it overnight, or else people would get in and check for themselves.

Leaving things totally open says "nothing to see here", or "already been picked through".
