Default Headers on a 3.8

I have an 08 2 door, with 5.13's,35's super chips trail dash ,air raid cai and a Gibson axle back I am pretty happy with how it runs as is for a 3.8, it will spin the 35's from a stand still and runs down the road fine, but o was looking around and found a set of longtube headers for cheap, no cats do I know I either need to buy cats or get s different tuner that allows removing them. But my real question is do headers make much difference in a 3.8? Is it worth spending the money on a different tuner to make them work with no CEL?

Not worth it at all.

I did Borla long tube catless headers on mine. Lost 10 wheel HP. Also with Diablo, you cant permanently disable the codes. They will periodically pop back up which is somewhat of a nuisanse.

Well that sucks. I was hoping it would make a good difference.

The BBK headers I installed recently work well. No more leaks is a bonus.

Installed Banks headers on my '08. Not only was there little if any noticeable power difference, they increased engine compartment temperature and caused plug wire failures on driver side, even with shielded wires and proper routing. No bueno!! Maybe it was a Banks issue....I believe that they're no longer offered....
