Height of standard two-car garage?
Anyone know the average height of a standard two-car garage?
Funny as hell that this is something I need to consider while hunting for bigger tires and a lift.

Not yet.
Will have one in May.. and which one we get (buying our first home) will have an affect. I've saved enough money to slap a sizeable down payment on a home loan in case you were going to ask.
And enough to beef up the Jeep.
In fact, I'm such a tight ass I have yet to spend any of the money I received from Christmas, or my birthday earlier this month. :(

82" here. I did the same. The day after closing on my first house I bought a motorcycle and the month after closing, a Tundra. Talk about blowing a ton of cash in a hurry.
Standard garage has 4 folding doors.....ask your home builder if they offer the 5 folding door garage as an upgrade. We did the 5 door + 2' garage extension, and we love it.
Hopefully it's not to late to upgrade....

you will freakin' love havin' a garage -- its awesome to pull in with the top down and leave it with out worry and get in the next day all dry and warm --- congrats on the new house when you get it and congrats on the new mods with you get them LOL
As was already mentioned, if building go for the 8' tall door although you can get 9' as well. The other thing to consider is going wider as well. Standard single-bay door is only 8' wide, but 9' width makes entry/exit a whole lot easier.
I went with 8'hx9'w doors and wish I had gone to 9'x9'.
For my lift installation this past weekend, I pulled in the left door and hooked a right to put the jeep across both bays of the garage which left boatloads of room all the way around the jeep for working on it. Don't know that I could have maneuvered it quite as easily thru an 8' wide door.

I just enclosed our carport into a garage. I went with 9ft doors for the length and it is perfect. I believe the ceiling height is 8ft and is just enough room for a 3inch lift and 35's after the garage door motors were installed. 8ft door length is to small and it will be VERY tight with the JK mirrors. Good luck with the build and congrats!

And if so, can't you just measure it? :toung:
