So I've got an AEV snorkel on order which should be here in a couple weeks. The snorkel covers the Rubicon decal on the passenger side so I'll be removing it and once the snorkel is on I'll be replacing it. I've decided to replace it instead of just leaving the area blank so I don't really need input about that.

I've contacted Pixel decals.com and they're gonna do me up a custom decal that will read "RUBICON: Overland" or "RUBICON: Overlander". I'm partial to this as I've been tailoring my JK build towards being an overland JK. The "Overland(er)" font will be smaller than the "RUBICON" and the "O" will be replaced with a compass much like that seen on Alpha Expeditions rig or the Mopar Underground Overlander build. Except the compass will be just a compass.

I'm stuck on two things. Should the decal read "Overland" or "Overlander" and what color should the entire decal be? My JK is a Sunburst Orange Unlimited with silver decals from factory which looks good in my opinion but I painted my front grill black and have black wheels and accessories so I was leaning towards flat black decals. Or black decals with a silver compass.

I was quoted $30 to do a pair of decals. I only planned on placing this custom decal on the side where the snorkel will be but If I change colors I'll swap out the silver Rubi decal on the drivers side.

Now this sounds like a lot of over thinking but I live in Northern Canada and ordering stuff usually takes time so if I'm gonna order something and wait I wanna order it once and get it right the first time.

Any thoughts, comments or changes are appreciated. I'll wait and see what you say before I place my order. Thanks.

As for colors, either black or silver. I'd say white if all your other decals weren't silver, but that wouldn't match.

Here are a few pics of my rig. As you can see the existing decals are in silver and don't look bad. Anyone notice the "antenna paper towel mod" I came across while setting up camp? The other thing that I didn't factor in was that the AEV snorkel is black so black decals may just blend in? What about silver font with a black compass?...

 

No one else eh? Common lots of views but no opinions?

Overlander. And, I say silver decals to go with the others and a gold (or brass) colored compass to really set it apart.

So here's a draft of the decal I'm having commissioned. The orange background is just to show what it should look like on my rig. I've requested that the compass be made a little larger. I like it overall. Should the Rubicon font be in silver or black. I think black looks pretty cool. Thoughts?
