I think there is something very wrong with my transmission. While im moving in 1st and accelrating through 2nd gear my trans makes a horrible crackling and a slight gear whine noise. As soon as I shift to 3rd its gone and is normal all the way to 6th and also seems fine in reverse. It sounds as if its becoming less noticeable but its definately there. I dont hear or feel any other indications that it is messed up and still moves just as well with no issues shifting to any gear at all. But theres got to be something wrong. It just started on saturday.

 

is it a grinding sound or a whine. like a whistle or something like that ? and do you get any resistance when you are shifting it into gear.?

ps this happens while you are shifting into second if you stay in first you get no noise?.... i think there was someone else who had a problem with the pilot bearing also might be the sincro's

If you have ever spun a wheel bearing with your finger it sounds just like that just amplified. It does it in 1st and 2nd but as soon as im shifting to 3rd and on its gone. But I have no problem physically moving the shifter into any gear.

Oh and I live in mastic beach. lol.

if it were me i would take it to the dealer and tell them the problem you are having. it is most likely covered under warranty. i tried finding the post where someone said they were having a similar problem but i could not find it. sorry brother
