Best way is to remove the carpet, clean it and leave it out to dry
Maybe even wash down the inside once the carpet is out

Just pulled my carpets today, sprayed it out, dried it out and put the plugs back in. Planning on cleaning the carpets and replacing in a few days. Had my doors and hard top off all summer with only the summer top and rear duster to protect from any weather. Man was there some gunk and crap I found in there. Wanted to have the top off a little longer but with this hurricane coming I figured it was best to get it all buttoned up.

now that your carpets are out, wipe it all down with a vinager water mixture to help keep any mold that may already be setting in. if you have time, shampoo your carpets with a mold inhibitor or just shampoo them with same vinager water mixture - i usually use a 70-30 mix (30 vinager) it stinks like vinager but goes away quicky. if you want it gone faster, sprinkle baking soda all over let site for about 30 minutes to and hour then then vacumm up.

I had to boil vinegar on a hot plate inside mine to get rid of skunk - I ran over a bunch of them late night.....

Leave the top and doors off, the hurricane will blow the carpet out and the rain will wash the rest.
