Help! Need advice on signing final paperwork.
My dealer called today and said they are trying to hit
their quota for this month. If I can come in and sign
the paperwork today, they'll knock off an additional
$300.
I'm in sales so I'd like to help them out and
take the discount.
Should I be wary of signing off without having seen
the JK yet?
It's on a railcar somewhere between Atlanta and Tampa.
Should be at the dealer in less than a week.
Any advice is appreciated as always.
Thanks

You could sign the sales contract without signing the inspections sheet. That way when it arrives you can complete the inspection to your satisfaction. If you feel comfy doing that. Just make sure that the paperwork shows everything you paid for and/or ordered.

I bought mine from 300 miles away without ever seeing it. I then had someone pick it up for me and drive it to my house (I had to work that weekend). Most Jeep dealerships won't trick you on the product you're getting. They just try to get every penney out of you when you actually do sign. They should be able to show you an electronic version of the window sticker too, so you will know exactly what you're getting.

Also depends on your local laws. In California the deal is not complete until the car leaves the lot. So a cusomter can sign any paperwork they want but the transaction is not inked in stone until the car leaves the lot.

Working at a delership, this practice is very common to lower the price to hit a quota. If the factory gives the dealer a unit number to hit they often put $500 or more bonus to be paid for each car hit. If a dealer sells 50+ cars a month it means alot. If they do not reach the goal they get nothing extra.
Congrats on good timing. As a sales manager I have lost a thousand plus dollars to reach that last unit to make the store thousands.

I would have gotten a 2dr Sahara Rock Red at invoice but it had Black tops and I wanted Khaki. They would have made their quota but I ended up ordering what I really wanted. Oh well. Just make sure they arent ripping you off and taking $300 off an already huge markup.
