I'm about 20 miles from a paved road and my engine isn't sounding too good. I managed to limp it back to the campsite. In the morning, I have to decide whether to try and limp it off the trail and another 100 miles home or figure how to get it towed off the trail.

Basically, the engine is idling rough and sputtering. You can clearly hear a ticking sound when standing at the exhaust. I'm guessing valve related. But it does not seem to be burning any oil. The exhaust looks normal.

What do you guys think - can I limp it home without blowing it up or causing more damage? All ideas greatly appreciated!
