That hurt my brain - just messing with you, I can't stand those keypads.

In all honesty, your best bet is to read the stickies and the FAQs in the stock and modified sections. That will give you the best base as you begin to read and follow what others are doing. It has helped me a ton, and I can tell you what I originally planned on building has changed based on a better understanding of the parts involved and my degree of wheeling.

Welcome and best of luck.

Both 2 and 4 door are very capable, so don't worry about it from a performance standpoint, look at their differences and determine from that.

2-door: less expensive, easier to get into tight spaces, original Wrangler/CJ setup

4-door: can carry more gear, easier for friends to get into the back seat, more towing capability

As for the auto or stick, I really think its preference, both perform well and both have their advantages.

Manual - can improve mpg's, allows you to control what speed you are in, can engine break on steep grades, less likely to overheat than an Auto
Auto - does very well when crawling, easier to drive
