Default Hood Flutter

So my hood keeps fluttering around and its driving me crazy, anybody got any ideas of what I can do. Seen some hood pins in the Quadratec catalog anybody ever use them on their ride. Not sure what to do, trying to get some ideas.

Default !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remove the hood coil spring !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live in the windiest city I have ever visited Plamdale/Lancaster CA. My hood scared the crap out of me everyday until I removed the coil spring near the latch.

Zero hood flutter now.

Its not the most ideal way to deal with it, but I have gotten used to the hood not automatically popping open when I unlatch my straps.

This is much better then having the hood bounce up and down like its going to rip the straps right off.

Just remove the spring, One screw and your free from the flutter

Best part is that its FREE and you dont have to wait for parts.

Removing just the spring didnt work for me, it still fluttered, so in case yours still flutters, get 14 inch zip ties, put it around the center of the latch itself, leave just a little slack, and then latch your hood. that will eliminate it until after a while when the zip tie breaks over time. Or you can always just get daystar latches.

Default Backing the Daystars

I am backing the Daystars. Make sure and follow the directions and install in warm/hot weather.

I put them in hot water before final install.

One of my original set snapped in half and I think it was due to the cold. Replaced by 4wd.com no charge.

Wow they sound intense, so maybe I should wait till the weather warms up before installing them then, any problems with them in the cold winter weather getting to tight or not haveing enuff flex to open back up.

I removed the hood spring and it worked great. That is the cheapest way to start.

X whatever. Threw mine away years ago and haven't had a problem since.
