It's a design fault...
Knowing if a woman is annoyed as heck or borderline fine is always a toughy to gauge. I've always felt this was a basic human design fault.. See, if women were born with big bushy tails, like dogs, if you walked in the front door and her tail was down, or worse still, tucked in between her legs and nearly tickling her tummy, you'd just take one look, back out the door again and slip off to the pub for a cold one. If, on the other hand, it was standing right up and kind of wifting gleefully from side to side you'd know things were looking good!!!

Tell her "IT'S MY MONEY, WOMAN!! I'LL DO WHAT I WANT WITH IT, WHEN I WANT!!!"
She's already mad, you might as well go all in.
*I, in no way take responsibility for anything that may happen if someone decides to take my "advice" for whatever reason would posses them to do so*

Shoot her, it'll take her mind off of the cost of the mods.... .40 bullet is a GREAT distraction.... lol j/k
For future reference I have learned to OVER bid by about 5% - 10% that way I can either get an extra goodie OR I can say "See honey I actually came in under cost." Then she might think you are price shopping when in fact you may not be.
BTW 5% - 10% doesn't sound like much until you are looking at $5,000+ in mods at a time. If the cost is under $5k then bump up the buffer to like 25%. You'll come out looking good almost every time. Last time I did it I just used every penny but instead of all on my rig I used my last $400 or so to get her a Mavado watch she had been wanting.
Daddy got his mods AND fun times with Momma that night.... Works every time with my wife.
