I've driven up to about 80 mph with no issues. If i'm going down the interstate in the mountains there is snow on the roads at the peaks sometimes. I'll just reach down and bump it into 4 hi just in case when I get to those areas and when it clears up put it back into 2 hi. Been doing this for 3 years with no problems. I think the owners manual says not to go over 55 but I think that's just for legal reasons.

I've driven it normally. I've gone 100 km/hr or 80 mph I guess with no issues. It's built to be driven that way if need be.

I drove 1000kms in icey conditions and I kept it in 4 hi the whole time doing speeds ranging from 80kms/hr to 110kms/hr.

I don't mean to offend any one here but if it is snowy/icy enough that you feel the need to put it in 4hi why do you still go 80mph??? It won't help you brake any faster...

You would have to live in these conditions for 8 months a year like I do, you get use to driving in it, the 4wd just helps keep the shiney side up.
As for 4wd not helping braking go out put in 2wd and do a hard but controlled stop and watch your abs go crazy, do it in 4hi and the front wheels being driven really help stop the wheels from wanting to lock.

Yeah, we get snow here to, maybe not as much as in B.C. but we get a lot of snow. Does everybody drive 80 in the snow/ice up there? Where I live we get a lot of snow driving experience and everyone does 15mph down the highway

Might as well let it go. You won't change anyone's mind.
