I'm planning to keep it until it won't run anymore. I'm hoping that's a long way off! And, I'm REALLY hoping that by the time I need a new one, they haven't wussed-out the Wrangler (i.e., no IFS, OnStar-type system, 3-cylinder "fuel-efficient / power-deficient" engine)...

i am currently trying ot sell mine... if i dont sell it before september 30th (the cutoff for the warranty sale) i will buy the lifetime warranty and keep it forever, i think.

the only reason i am trying to sell it is to get what i really wanted off the get-go: a silver rubi unlimited with soft top, power group. and tow group. i bought my sahara off the lot with more options than i needed, dual tops, 6 disk, etc. and have tryed to build it to what i wanted.

also i am contemplating an auto so the wife can drive it.

Your son is making a very wise decision If he ever has questions about the Coast Guard, you can always PM me!

As for the poll, I am never letting this one go, NEVER

Right now I plan on keeping it long after it's paid-off. I'm 24 now and I've had a car loan since I was 19 (this is my third vehicle). It's about time I should start saving my money so I can spend it on personalizing my Jeep

Default Just like I did with my '97 TJ Sport

I plan to keep this one at least as long as I did my 1997 TJ Sport. Just sold it to my Mother in law (I actually like her!) last week with 107,000 on the odometer. I bought it June 5, 1996. It's still in Great condition!

So I guess that's between the 8-10 years and 'til the wheels fall off mark.

And with global warming, I'm pretty safe.
I will get another in a few years when our second vehicle dies.

This is my starter jeep. I plan on doing just minor mods to it to get a feel for what i really need versus what my "bigger is better" brain dysfunctions tell me. Once the voices die down and i have it figured out more, I plan on ordering a rubi with whatever bells and whistles i want/dont want, and use the learning curve from this one to have all the mod parts for the next one... in the garage waiting the day it arrives. THAT one i plan on keeping forever.
