Question how many do you rotate?

when you rotate your tires, do you rotate all five or just the four on the ground?

All five of course. Why would you leave one out?

dealer said spares are only used for flat tires and there is no mention of the fifth tire in the owners manual rotation guide.

i thought that was insane, so i did some research and everywhere ive looked has rotated all five.

All 5! I wanna wear that spare out so I can get 35's And then Id still rotate all 5. I rather have the spare wear out when the other four do. Plus I rotate like every 3000 with mud terrains, so they all wear pretty even.

All five. I'd rather have five similarly worn tires than have an unworn at rotation time that will probably wear faster, because of exposure to the elements over the years.

I would guess that's because most of the vehicles he sells don't have full size spares, so he doesn't understand the idea of rotating a spare in. Very smart of you to do your own research. It will certainly give you a little extra life out of your tires.

plus I think the dealer would rather you just replace stock tires, with stock tires. So why should you wear out the spare too. They all read out of the same book.

So, I take it they were wrong?
