How many is to many?
Or a 2010 with 60,000 miles?

Probably average 8-12,000 mile per year would be acceptable.
Mine is not quite 2yrs. old and I just past 24,000.
A pre-purchase inspection is in order for any used vehicle. Most times it's the best $250 piece of mind you will ever have.
If you find a higher mile Jeep with an extensive maintenance history and she's not been beaten and put away wet, it can be a better Jeep than one that has been neglected with half the miles.

Just went down the same decision path. Looked at the asking prices for used a JK. Then watched some videos of JKs wheeling, and read some stuff on here about the things that go wrong.
In the end, I decided on a 2011 with 12 miles. Actually paid less than some of the used stuff I looked at, and my JK Sport 24S is pretty well equipped.

Oddly enough I would feel better about a JK with 60k on it versus 20k. Seems like according to the forum threads the oil burning/spun bearing problem usually shows up by 40-50k or it has an engine that is probably okay.
First thing I do looking at a used vehicle is slide up under it and inspect. If I see much of any oil indicating leaks from the engine,T-case, or tranny, or big dents, I walk away. I also run my finger around the inside of the exhaust tip. If it comes up oily, I am not interested. Of course that might not work with more modern vehicles if the cat converters are intercepting the burning oil.
Take a look at the tires (unless they are new), for any signs the camber or toe is wearing them unevenly. That might indicate front end problems.
Was looking around for a used JK or TJ for a friend. The resale prices on these things is incredible. He would almost be better off just buying new, just like a previous poster stated he did.

X2 when I bought mine, the dealer wanted $26k for a used 40k mile JKU 08 rubi, firm! I got my 2010 sport power options and 7 miles on it for $24k. It was cheaper for me to buy new, i got a lower interest rate too!
