2007 JKU Sahara @ 80K Miles

80K with very few issues - I have a very early production '07 Sahara

Thermostat last week - (From my experiences with other vehicles typical lifespan is 60-80K)
Upgraded Steering Stabilizer & Ball Joints @ 55K Miles - (Covered under extended warranty or Mopar Service Bulletins)
Leakly Soft top - (Repair - pulled carpet out)

I have an extended warranty for another 10K, but haven't has any bad luck here.

Midgear 01-23-2011 08:16 AM

I just got my Jeep, used with 33,000 miles. so far it hasn't got a single issue aside from the blinker switch.. think theres a loose wire in there somewhere- the dimmer switch for the dash lights kinda does wierd things.. hit my blinker and the dash lights light up really bright- give it a wiggle and they go back to normal setting lol

07crawler 01-23-2011 08:26 AM

63,000 on my 07 Rubi 2dr, no major issues but i think my clutch is finally going out .

Enclocal 01-23-2011 08:31 AM

2008 JKU Rubi, 11.5k miles, no issues yet :ya:

I have nearly 36,000 miles and no problems at all. I have added some mods and had the recalls fixed but that is all. It is like new and I love it. (after I re torqued the bolts on the lower control arms)

jayjeep 01-23-2011 09:42 AM

cuz alot of people tell me at around 50k miles there engines start to go or give alot of problems

GreenJK07 01-23-2011 09:49 AM

I have an 07 2door and have 43k on it. Went through a thermostat and had to replace front and rear rotors and pads. Other than that no problems.

Dronac 01-23-2011 10:57 AM

34,500 miles this week.

-18,400: bought Jeep
-19,000: Rear main seal replaced
-30,000: Spun bearing. New shortblock and lifters. Would have cost me $5,000 out of warranty :eek2:
-34,500: Driveshaft failing due to lift. Engine is also making noise again. I think it's a cracked exhaust manifold or one of the cats is dead.

I hate to say it, but I wish the JK was not American made. I wouldn't ever drive anything but a Wrangler, but I have no expectation of reliability of any sort from anything made by Chrysler.

gritsgresham 01-23-2011 12:12 PM

2010 2 door rubie 3500 miles. No probs yet, except makes funny noise on initial start up in cold weather. But I been reading its common.

Bob_O's Jeep 01-23-2011 12:23 PM

52,000 miles on a 2007 JKU. Had to add a extra ground wire for the battery to clear up that "No start" problem. Gas tank has the overflow problem, but I have had a lot of practice keeping that to a minimum. I ripped at ABS sensor wire somehow. That was a easy fix. Overall I'm happy with it. It certainly wouldn't deter me from buying as many Jeeps as I could afford in the coming years.

STUPIDFACE 01-23-2011 12:34 PM

08 2 door.....16,000 or so miles.

hunty 01-23-2011 12:34 PM

100,000

Almost clocked 100,000km = 60,000miles

original clutch was still good when changed @ 60,000 for a spec stage 3 - amazing given I drove on 35's with 3.21's for 20,000kms = 13,000miles.

windscreen header water leaks - still not fixed :(

replaced rear brake pads - fixed early activation of ESP ERM etc hope rear pads will last longer.

just drove 10,000kms = 6,000miles from Sydney to the out back and back a lot of harsh dirt roads - didnt use a drop of oil and just b4 i changed the oil on my return i dipped it to see how it was going and the oil was still ok = not black lol

Gotta luv my Jeep!!!!
cheers Hunty

Shayes 01-23-2011 12:45 PM

08 4 door 67390 miles on her
Only problem was with temp sensor at 38000 miles. Uses 1 qt of mobil 1 every 5000 miles. Could not complain.

artiedib 01-23-2011 01:26 PM

I have an '08 2dr X with 6 spd with 88,300÷. Clutch is grabbing quite high so it may be time. Other than that, the only problem is the gas tank overspill issue.

jhiero 01-23-2011 01:29 PM

07 Sahara 88k. Had a dw problem turned out to be bad ball joints

TheDoubleD 01-23-2011 01:39 PM

'07 Wrangler X with 75,000 miles purchased 11/06. Issue with automatic drivers window. Front timing cover and the standard stuff (brakes, tires, etc). Overall running really good.

07jeepX 01-23-2011 04:03 PM

07 JKU 63,000 miles
Loose heat shield... fixed
Just bought new battery
Other than these no real problems. Love my Jeep

Kalamari 01-23-2011 04:22 PM

I've got an '09 with 33000 km on it. No issues other than 2 recalls so far.

polishboy 01-23-2011 05:34 PM

07 Sharaha Unl 4 dr 18000 miles on it no problems except for the recent recall on fenders mod to be done. Motorcycle mileage 90000 miles on a 02 Yama Venture.

billheese 01-23-2011 05:58 PM

Ok so I bought an '07 in Sept... 39000miles. Gone through 2 steering stabilizers, an e-brake, a steering column, and a slave cylinder. It goes back to the shop tomorrow... Thinking a power steering pump and a new o2 sensor. Current mileage 46000. Beginning to feel like something is not right with the Jeep. Going to have a chat with the sales manager tomorrow... already have almost $1000 in repairs in this thing.

JKlad 01-23-2011 06:50 PM

32K miles on my stock '08 V6 2-door sport hardtop; 32" Rubi wheels/tires & 3.21s.

Only main issue was the ABS pump shorting out at 5K miles but that was my fault for dunking it in a muddy waterhole up to the hood (still got it replaced under warranty though). Had a leaking rear pinion seal replaced at 20K miles but I do a bit of deep sand wheeling & sand can chew up those seals; again, replaced under warranty.

Have the steering clunk (it was fixed but returned 5K miles later). Will wait until warranty's almost up, get them to replace the intermediate shafts and then I'll do the 5th wheel grease mod myself to make sure it doesn't return.

All in all, my JK has been virtually trouble free (I've had much more trouble with other new vehicles in the past, & these were road cars that I didn't wheel in) and I am very happy with it.

wmcvey 01-23-2011 07:09 PM

72,000 miles on a 07 4 door auto. Very few problems so far, just brake pads and tires. Had a power window quit, need that fixed. The water pump is starting a very slow leak and will need work soon. All in all that's not so bad for a four year old with 72,000.

wired 01-24-2011 10:29 AM

Almost 5000 km, no problems so far. Just did first oil change.

JustinRich303 01-24-2011 10:56 AM

Love your Jeep, make it your own.. warrantees dont mean squat. Chrysler service sucks

28000km now... And as things break I refuse too use inferior mopar parts in my vehicle, One things for sure never let Chrysler techs tell you anything, even service managers are useless..

My hard top is leaking around the doors..."Really, that looks in-spec too me, are you sure you are closing the door right?":dontknow2: Yes i have had that conversation with a service manager... scary!

23000km--
door hinges bubbling/ peeling
Steering stabilizer gone again
Suspension Shot (Chrysler said in-spec... had 3rd party look at it, sure enough 3 of 4 shock tubes were compromised)
Lower front control arms
Ball-joints front gone

18000km--
-fenders falling off
-Manual Transmission Popping gears, 1st,2nd,3rd,reverse Obliterated (replaced @ 21000km)
-Airbag/ computer fired out

12000km--
-soft-top leaking
-steering stabilizer gone
-dealer figured out that suspension wasn't installed correctly from factory.. they forgot too install the polyurethane spacers..

speedtop 01-24-2011 12:26 PM

2008 Rubi, 19500 miles, 0 issues. :driving:

Have to say... kind of feeling the same way!

XBlacky08X 01-24-2011 03:07 PM

Just over 35,000 miles. Only issues I've had was the gas tank overflow and a bad slave cylinder. Both replaced under warranty. Other than that.. No issues. No oil consumption, no gear popping, no anything. Driven daily.. Hoping to last well over 100k but time will tell. I've heard quite a few horror stories.

ffhockey98 01-24-2011 03:23 PM

Less than 3000. 2011 unlimited sport. No problems. My wife has a 2007 unlimited sahara. Changed the steering stabilizer. That's it. Need some new sneakers on that one soon. Just under 40,000

LaxAHolic 01-24-2011 03:47 PM

2007 4door Auto.
71,980 miles. Can't say its been problem free..:naw:

MSmitty 01-24-2011 04:01 PM
