how much off a 2012?
I consider myself to be a pretty tough negoitator....my dad instilled in me never to pay what the other man wants.....there is always 'another' price.....Well.....I negoiated for 5 days to make my deal....talked to 5 different dealers......fought, scratched, kicked, and clawed my to a whoppin $2500 discount and a good deal on a set of wheels and tires.....it almost wasn't worth the time it took fighting for it....but it is what it is....and I have a '12 sittin' in the driveway.

I used USAA as a starting point when I ordered my JKU Rubi. I ended up with a MSRP of $38590, paid $33,611, $2500 under invoice. I ordered mine back on 8/30. Took delivery 10/1. Have fun in it and see you home safe
Truecar.com netted me 6% below invoice. I built it, printed the certificate and handed it to the dealer. That was it. No negotiations at all. In and out in 20 minutes. This is with no special rebates.
I have a question for all you guys that have used USAA... I have configured the Wrangler I am looking at in their car buying system and they are showing me a target price that is equal to the price on truecar.com minus the $1000 USAA credit. So I am seeing below invoice after the 1000 off but some of you guys are claiming you are getting below invoice before the 1000 credit.
Does the price on the USAA webpage change once you put in your information and start the processes? I haven't started it yet b/c i am not ready to start getting all the phone calls. TIA

USAA will no tshow the negotiated price until you are registered with them. I am surprised they show you the $1000 dicount. USAA's negotiated price is 3% below Invoice just like tread lightly, but USAA is free. THE only advantage to Treadlightly over USAA is every dealer will take treadlightly, not every dealer is set up with USAA. Makes it harder to search Jeep.com for a wrangler speced the way you want it ready to go right now.
I searched Jeep.com and found an exact match for what i wanted. I used treadlightly and some negotiation skills and got mine for $1000 under invoice and I got them to throw in the Jeep slush mats. After the deal though, I found I dont care to much for the Jeep mats. they lack the coverage of the Quadratech mats. ill probably switch to the quadratechs eventually.

Thanks for the quick reply... I went ahead and put in all the data and submitted it, I am still only seeing about $900 below invoice AFTER the 1000 off (so 3% under invoice after the 1000). Not sure how you guys got a few percent under invoice before the $1000.
I am doing this from USAA car buying service from usaa.com. Just to clarifiy I already had a usaa account and been messing with their car buying page trying the jeep with different options I just never clicked through the processes of sending my information to the dealer yet, b/c I hear once you do that you start getting lots of calls.
EDIT: already getting phone calls... but actually getting quoted a better price than what USAA showed on the webpage... impressed so far.

It all depends on the area you live in, and the number of dealers that are competing. Ive done it on both USAA and truecar.com and had the same exact pricings offered. Put in a zip code close enough to drive to, but not so far its not worth the trip, and see what they have to offer
