Default How wide...

... is the rear storage area in an Unlimited? Wondering if my hard golf case is gonna fit in there. Can someone measure behind the rear seat at it's widest point and also where the sub is?

Thanks in advance.

I think you will have a tough time fitting a hard case back there. Can't give you a measurement at the moment, but I had to put my regular bag in at an angle. Of course I had a bunch of other crap back there that I was too lazy to move, but I'm pretty sure it will need to go diagonal and will probably not lie flat.

That's what I figured, snipes. I might take it to the dealer here on base and test fit in another JK to see what I'm lookin' at. Wondering whether I should pick it up in WV while I'm home on leave between stations or just wait until I get to Jersey and pick it up at a dealer there. Hmm...

Not gonna happen. Measured one at the dealer.

37" deep
43" wide at the rear seats
37" wide at the speaker

I didn't even bother to measure the bag 'cause my driver is longer than 43". I highly doubt it'd even stand up diagonally behind the rear seat. Plus, I've got 2 of them (one for my bag and one for the boys' bags).

Looks like I'll be buying a hitch mount carrier if I need to transport the hard cases.

How many passengers? Any chance you could fold a seat down?

Not on this trip. My only options are cargo rack... either full or hitch mounted.

Any suggestions?

What about one of those safari racks that mounts above the wheel wells? You might have enough room at the top of the tub. If so you can keep your gear inside the Jeep and still have some storage underneath the rack.
