I saw this, and was wondering, i had a 2009 jeep wrangler rubicon CRD that did these easily..and more sometimes..

Now please tell me, if I should be scared of going even moderately in water in my 2011 3.8 V6 Rubicon...this is bollock, maybe 2 years changed alot...wtf?

Still look at the video link, thats bullshit!!!, If it hydrolocks on that little water, Im gonna tow it to my dealer, and launch it right on their fucking head with a catapult, thats unaccepteble for a jeep....

Not to worry. Just go slow. It is with speed that water gets splashing all inside the engine, and withthe high RPMs the engine will suck water. Take it slow and low and the amount of water in the photos is doable.

I jave that setup and it has worked great. Just be sure to weather strip the areas where the scrwews are as well as the area between the filter and the casinf. Also, weather strip the screw that secures the box to the frame. Beleive me w/out stripping it does leak.

After watching the vid, I see why he hydrolocked. Watch carefully after he enters the water...there is a point at which his tires are shooting water directly under his hood in the area where the intake is. I have no idea why, he doesn't seem to be going that fast. Just bad luck I guess.

You can go across water or mud slowly....but expect the unexpected!

If you are considering doing lots of water/mud crossings get a snorkel!

I hydrolocked my Jeep going through about a 3 foot deep hole filled with water. I drove through it way too fast and water came over the hood - just like in that picture. Engine cut off and I stalled right in the middle of the water. Had to get my friend to pull me out and take me back home. It wasn't a fun experience and I was without a Jeep half of the summer due to this issue. Needless to say, I've learned my lesson. I've been riding after that and will NEVER be stupid enough again to hit any kind of water hard.
