I did it...
Well, as nervous as I am about payments being a college student, I bit the bullet and replaced my 99 silverado today (she was a beaut, and didn't cost me a dime, but after a recent car accident, things were looking bad).
I almost made a huge mistake, buying a new X, base model, with vinyl seats, no center console, and no A/C.
But, after driving a little further, for shits n' giggles today, I found it. There were 2 to choose from, within my budget. A new X, in steel blue, with hard top and Trac-lock, and a Flame Red X, soft top, both with the C package.
As tough as it was to choose between the two, and as upset I am that I didn't get the Trac-Lock (do I really need it though???), I settled on the Red, figuring the 1200 in savings was worth it.
She was a deal too, 500 under invoice, with a nice $5500 trade bid ($500 more than the other Jeep dealership with the base X, and $2300 more than a honda dealership). Also got a locking gas cap, wheel locks, and a lifetime dealer-cost deal on any mopar accessories. The lifetime powertrain warranty is icing on the cake... Tomorrow I pick her up.
