That's too bad that she didn't have a Jeep instead. If she had a Jeep, she'd thank you for it because she gets an excuse to get a cool aftermarket bumper!

Replacing the regular car bumper is no fun. It probably cost more than a nice Purejeeep or Shrockworks bumper!

who would your insurance go up? They dont raise your rates after every claim, thats a myth people have. Get a few claims it will, but one claim for as cheap as this will be... shouldnt go up

It doesn't look too bad, a lot of times they can repair a spot like that. If they fix it, it's a lot less than a new cover!

I just had my Honda bumper replaced (and painted) for $700. I would think the KIA would be cheaper. I would definitely not go through the insurance.

Uh, not exactly. Lots of folks get a "no accidents" discount. Have an accident and the discount goes away. We can quibble whether the insurance rate went up, but your next bill will be higher.

Unless there's something really unusual about insurance in some particular state, there shouldn't be any deductible for liability coverage. However, I do agree with the advice to pay for this yourself and keep insurance out of it.
