Default I have a tow package; need a bike rack to go with it

So, who makes the best hitch mounted bike rack (4 bikes) for the best price. I was looking at a Thule that swings out to allow access to the tailgate, but it was $350. I want a good rack, and I like the idea of tailgate access, but I'd like to spend less than that if I can. I've seen the kind that tilt downward instead of swinging to the side, but I don't think they'd tilt far enough to be able to open the gate more than a few inches.

So anyway, what do y'all recommend?

weeeeeeeeeellllll

i dont rightly care much about your package, nothing wrong with a nice rack though.

i dont want to be hearing about tailgate access

pointing down or swinging to the side is normal.

sorry about the "few inches"

Ok, I guess I deserved that. Of course I'm sitting here at work (supposed to be working) and my coworkers are wondering why I'm laughing out loud......

Thanks HC, you made my day.

Allen makes a good 4 bicycle rack, @ $100.00. It fits into a 2" receiver. You can pull a pin and lower it down flat when needed.

Yea, yea, yea -- just had to open up this thread, just to see where it went.......

This is a great thread on just that:

Bottom line for me - for my stock X I found the thule rack extended far out enough to clear my stock spare but the option to fold down the post didn't work because that bottom section didn't clear the spare. Anyway, check the thread for other info.

*L* anytime.

I still need to get a bikerack for mine too, though i suppose getting and installing a hitch would help considerably as a starting point?

I have the 4-bike Allen and am now using it on my JK... but... after getting larger tires, had to get a 7" receiver extender to clear the spare.
