We just had a baby girl last weekend. Now we've got two kids, but the two door's not going anywhere. Until the Full Soft doors come out in December (according to Bestop- hopefully), then they go in the garage. I like the unlimited. It's more practical. But I like the 2D better. I've driven both, and I'm not convinced the 4D rides any better, but YMMV.

How big of a hit did you take on your trade. I had my 4 dr appraised on friday. Its a '07 sahara with the mygig 9300 miles 4x2 and they told me they would give me 21,500. I paid around 26k for it. It is less than 6 months old. I want to trade in on a 4x4 4dr. but taking that big a hit will just kill me.

I would put it on ebay and Craigslist. They seem to be bringing really good money. Remember, the dealer will always give wholesale and then sell for retail. The JK is hot, you can sell it on your own easily. You will not have to take such a big hit.

I traded my two door in on the four door and it was gone two days later, I probably should have sold it privately but did not fair to bad at all on the trade.

I am in the process of waiting for my JK, It is E status now. ( Frame ) Unlike many of you I don't have the family issues driving my decision to go to the 4 Door. But Simply I like them. Don't get me wrong, I love my TJ as well. But I really wanted the JK.
But I strated looking at them at the end of 06 & through 07. At the time ! was about 3Gs upside down on my TJ, So I decided to wait a year until I was much closer to even.
Now My 04 TJ only has 22.000 miles on it. And it is in pristine condition, which put me in a unique position. So I am today owning about 12,600 on it & Kelly is calling mine @ 12,460 at this time.
As My new one SHOULD ?????? be here in december. I should be OK & not have to take a hit as the year changes over & makes my TJ 4 yrs old instead of 3.
So in my case I guess it just comes down to timing. & the timing is working out just as planned.
