Im in the market for a 2 door, hardtop, X model. possibly Rubicon

Every first-run production model ('07 for the JK) will have some changeover pains, but normally they are fixable.

If I was going to buy a used JK, Id go with an '07. There really is no difference.. but in an 07, there is no TPMS, which cost me $185 to buy 5 new sensors for my wheels when I changed them out.

I wouldn't worry too much about model year, just buy the best Jeep you can find.

The 08s do have a nice redesigned seat belt making entry into the rear easier

If you are going to buy used the lifetime warranty on the 2008 is only good for the original buyer so the 07 and 08 warranty is the same on a used Jeep. Obviously the 08 will have a warranty for a longer time but most Jeep owners don't care about factory warranties.

Go with the 08. Not only is it easier to get into the back seat, but the tops leak less as well.
