Default I'm dyin' here...

I've been shopping for a JK since ~April. I've nearly pulled the trigger a couple times. Actually put money down on 2 (yep, two) JK's, but backed out on both of those for separate reasons.

Well, today, I almost dropped the coin to buy a 2008 Rubicon Unlimited.

It's yellow, auto, w/ 6cd, power group, and hard top.

The dealer wants $32,800 for it. Told him I might do it for that if he'd throw in some of the MOPAR beadlocks.

I'm waiting to see if he can get the price down under $32k now. I doubt the beadlock deal is gonna work. Does anyone know a dealer price on those?

Well, that answers that question. I found the wheels on QT for $640 each!

Is that a typo?

On another note, they looked up the MOPAR D60 rear axle and said that "their price" was ~$4500!

I guess I won't be ordering that locally!

Thanks, toad, but after shoppin' for 6 months, I am getting really, really antsy. Just ask mrsjeeperjkj.

I could stand it more if I were waiting on one I'd ordered and had a date to look forward to, but my situation is killin' me.

Toad is right! I stumbled on mine, and got it when I wasn't really "in the market" for a new vehicle. Heh, now I am driving my dream vehicle (JEEP!). I upgraded from an 01 Cherokee...

Yeah, well, I(we) am(are) driving an '02 KJ now. It's nice, but we need a second vehicle. I sold my truck in May 'cause we thought we were going to leave here (Guam) in July. Now, it turns out I'm on medical hold and have no clue how much longer I'm gonna be here.

We're thinkin' about buying a beater to get me around to work and back, etc., but I figure if I'm gonna buy me a Jeep later anyway, I should just look for a deal on one now. Then we'd just sell the KJ before we leave here.

It's just a balancing act between buying one too quick and paying too much and making sure that I don't put it off so long that I'm better off waiting until we get back Stateside.

Ughhh.

With the economy tanking.....dealerships are really starting to hurt.....maybe a better deal is a couple of months down the road.

I concur.

I sort of rushed into mine and my hand shakes every time I write the check. However, I'm super stoked every time I'm in it.

Hang in there.

I won't tell you what I paid for for my stock x unltd. What can I say? It was love at first site and there was no hiding it. I would have traded my first born when I laid eyes on it. Despite paying too much, I'm satisfied it. If you have the patience, good for you because in this market you'll most likely get a sweet Jeep for a sweet price.
