Default I'm thinking of changing my tranny fluid.

I've done a lot of reading on here about changing the manual tranny fluid to a synthetic fluid. From what I understand it makes it shift easier in the cold weather, and just overall good for the tranny itself. Is it ok to change the fluid while still under warranty?
My question is what is the best fluid to use, and does anyone have a step by step on how to change it on a 6 speed? I've never done a manual before. Any help would be great!

There is a writeup under maintenance on project JK. It's kind of a pain to mess with the drain plug on it. I've run Royal Purple Syncromaxx and Amsoil Manual Trans Fluid and they feel the same to me. It's a good idea to swap it out every now and then. I changed everything at 1,000 miles. Transfer Case, Manual Trans, Axles and Oil. Changed the axles again at 10,000 when I got diff covers. The trans and transfercase were done at 13,000 again. I wheel very often and hard, I prefer to just swap the fluids out to avoid problems and let me feel better.
