And just another note - If an aftermarket design was created I would want a bypass block for the coolant to go out to a remote filter which also would be remote and included in the block design. IE bring everything to the outside of the motor and eliminate under the manifold issues. Going to talk with a friend who owns a large machine shop to see what he thinks. He can cast and has CNC lathes and milling/cutting machines. For 7000 units needed he probably could get a 1000 units sold. What is the cost of those cooler/filter units from FCA?

My go-to assembly lube, o-ring lube, etc. has always been DC-4 dialectric grease. It doesn’t conduct electricity so it can be used on electronics, it’s harmless if it gets into a fuel system, oils, etc..

Question. I would appreciate member's input and opinions, I own a 2015 Wrangler JK Sport with @ 41,600 miles. So , if I have the funds should I buy an Oil Filter Assembly for future use ? Like immediately ! Thank you in advance,

It's really a crapshoot man. I have 100k miles on my '13 with no issues, whereas some people have this issue with low miles.

So I asked my machine shop friend about this and he was interested. He needs to look at one to see what is involved. We talked about a remote cooler perhaps tapped into heater return and remote filter base then all that is under the manifold is the switch and a block with outlets and inlets. Get rid of the cooler coolant system under there and simply bypass it back into the motor. Bit of design needed here. Anyone near Calgary got an old one?

Everyone makes this out to be so bad. Is it a terrible design? Sure, but it's not the end of the world. It's a couple hours work for anyone with little skill to get in there and make the fix. The real problem is for those folks that have to have someone else do the fix, but those folks aren't the type that are going to be doing some relocation either IMO.
