Default Initial Impressions (first weekend with my JK)

Well everyone, I picked up my JK this past Friday, and after spending the weekend with it, and putting on 300 miles, I have some initial observations and questions.

WHAT I LIKE
First, I love the exterior, stance and ride height of the JK. I have the X with the 24s pkg (16" rims with P245s).

Second, the engine matted with the automatic (Dana 44 and 4.10) provides plenty of power. I have kept the RPMs below 2,500 to break her in properly but I do not anticipate any trouble with lack of power.

Third, the stereo is pretty damn good. I have the infinity speaker upgrade.

Fourth, the soft top is amazingly quiet even with a wind and at higway speeds. My old man has a '94 LR D-90 with a Badger Coach Works top (which was an improvement over the bestop) but that thing is a helluva lot noiser.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE (and problems)
First, the interior plastic scratches like dry skin. In fact there were a couple faint scratches in it when I took delivery.

Second, my fold and tumle rear seat will not return to the LOCKING upright position. It folds and tumbles nicely, but when I try to unfold it, the seat will not latch back at the floor anchor points. It just stays upright and bounces up and down a little at driving speeds. I consulted the owners manual and still no luck. AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG? Help!

Third, the black paint on the bottom of the rear seat rails and the soft top framework is super rough and cheap! I got a metal sliver in my hand trying to figure out the fold and tumle rear seat thing. PLUS there is a scratch on the side of the soft top framework (the small, diagonal tubular piece) and it is showing bare metal. It was like this when I got it.

Fourth, the rig bounces up and down quite a bit even on smooth highway roads. I think it might be the suspension. Say, aren't the shocks tunable? Perhaps they are set a little too tight?

Any advice would be tremendously helpful. This is my first new car and my very first Wrangler.

'07 Wrangler X (2-door)
Steel Blue Metallic
24s Pkg (auto)
Towing pkg (4.10 and Dana 44 rear)
Infinity speaker upgrade

When you are putting the seat back pull the seat back and down to the latches and than pull the strap towards you and it should lock in to place. Now that is how I do my 2 doors back seat but Im not sure if you are having problems with the 2 door or an unlimited. Either way hope it helps.

Oh and by the way, congrats on your new Jeep.

Thanks. I do have the 2-door. I pulled on the black nylon strap but it will not lock the latches to the floor anchor points. I even tried flicking the latch mechanisms on the bottom of the seat but that simply locks the latches shut so that they slam against the anchor points when the seat is pushed down. I flicked them back open and still cannot get my seat to anchor to the floor.
