Interesting article

This article is pretty interesting. I had hope for more news at the Detroit show about the new JKs being produced. This article has a couple of interesting rumors.
First, no diesel option for the US yet
Second, Jeep may likely be getting the new Chrysler Pentastar 3.6L V6. The estimated specs for the engine are here:

What do you guys think? A 39% gain in power and a 10% gain in torque with cylinder deactivation. Might be cool, but it also feels like another step away from the roots.

The thing is, if they gave a date for diesel in the US, sales between now and then would drop sharply. We'll get a diesel sooner than they will now admit .
I wouldn't be surprises if they just started selling them unannounced, someday.

Jeep is probably waiting to see the sales figures of the european diesels that are coming to the US. Hopefully they will be good and Jeep will come to its senses and offer a diesel version in the US.
