Default Interior spray in liner

Just spent a weekend up on the slopes at Camelback mtn. and ran into the issue of a lot of water throughout my interior from all the snow melting off my gear. Was talking to a guy I work with about the issue and he suggested I do a spray in liner throughout the interior of my Jeep. His YJ has it done and it looks pretty good so I looked into it.

Linex will spray it for $625 but will only do it if I bring it in completely stripped down to essentially just the drivers seat and seatbelt. They suggested taking it to a local off road shop who would do it for $225.

My question is have any of you gutted your interior for something like this, and if so how much time/labor did you have to put in? Also I'm concerned with reinstalling everything after the spraying. Just wanna make sure everything fits the way it is supposed to.

Thanks
-Adam

you can do one of three things
-roll on bed liner
-self spray on bed liner
-pay someone to spray the liner on

when i talked to a guy here in morgantown wv, he said i could get it done for $250.00. Now that's $250.00 if i bring my 2 door with nothing in it except my driver seat. if i already take everything out, i might as well do it myself and save some cash.

Many have and there are write ups about it.

Here's one, but you can search for others.

So the Raptor liner yourself. $110 comes with everything you need and looks like lineX. I did my truck bed and color matched it...

If that is $250 for LineX or Rhino it is an absolute no brainer - have him do it.

Taping, prep work like sanding, cleaning, all that stuff is a pain in the ass, way harder than stripping down everything but the drivers seat, definitely in a two door.

I did my own with Monstaliner, and I like it quite a bit. But cost was like $175 just for the coating, plus I needed supplies. $250 for a pro coating is an insane deal. Honestly, even $625 is a screaming deal. I was quoted around $1200 for linex, $1600 for Rhino soft.

If you do it yourself, look at Monstaliner, the texture is more appropriate for a Wrangler. Slip resistant, but "slick" to water and dirt. Linex, regular Rhino, and even Raptor have a texture (great in a truck bed that you are fine with using a pressure wand throughout) that holds dirt, sand and mud the same way it is designed to hold lumber or cargo.

And before reply, I know that linex and rhino can vary texture - but they don't get as easy to clean as monstaliner, or the rhino "soft" which is perfect for a Jeep.

Just a few weeks ago I stripped mine and had it sprayed with Line-X. It took most of a day to remove everything but I was pretty methodical. Tried to sort everything in the garage so I could put it all back.

On the removal: I recommend a 24" breaker bar for the seat mounting bolts. For the seatbelt retractor mounting bolts use an impact wrench or ask the Line-X guy to remove them. They are very hard to get a wrench on and the torx head is easy to strip. Unfortunately I learned this from experience. Everything else is easy to remove. You have to finesse the plastic fasteners a bit but they all come out in one piece in my experience. I replaced the push type cable ties for the wire harnesses under both rails. You can buy those online. They are the 1/4" size.

On the install: Re-torque the seat mount bolts a day or two later as the liner compresses. I covered the exposed wiring harnesses under the rail with black wire loom aka flexible tubing. Goes right over the cable ties.

I have another thread on this so just search for threads I started. Had some addl advice. Would also be glad to walk you, or any forum member, through what I did and learned by phone if it would help.

Thanks! Ill be doing the tub of our JKU this spring and our new JCR rear Dagger bumper. One thing I will do different is get that cup brush sanding attachment that goes on a high speed buffer ... Hand sanding a bed is way to much like work
