Which Jeep is better?
I'm looking at buying a new 4Dr - 4WD Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X
Found these, which makes more sense - I like the dual tops, but it seems for a thousand bucks less I should go w/the 08. Then I'd have to buy 4 steel doors and a hard top though, because I definitely want the hard top. I figured at least $6,500 for the hard top and doors, you have to get them all from the dealer, I didn't find any aftermarket kit. (unless you find someone selling them online - doubtful)
they're essentially identical except for the top and mileage:
2007 - 18k miles for $22,500k - hard top
2008 - 700 miles for $21,500k - soft top (steel 1/2 doors not full)

Acquiring 4 hard doors and a hard top will be expensive. Tops seem to run about $2000 for aftermarket units, and require a wiring kit. Doors are unavailable, unless you find them at a wreckers, or assemble them from dealer parts. If you really want the Hard top, get it. If you want both tops get the dual top option. Else, look at other options for summer coverage -- there seems to be no complete soft top kits available yet.
Good luck in your search.

Just order it! Your color...the way you want it! My wife wanted another jeep and in the past she has leased the lowest cheapest Wrangler available. This time she ordered a Sahara...... She smiles every time she sits in it!!!!!! Its worth a couple extra grand. Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda.....

Seems like you answered your own question - if money is your overriding concern. 1k more for 07; but, 6.5k more to get hard top for 08 (I couldn't speak to actual price on top and doors). 5.5k buys a soft top and quite a bit of other stuff! Either way... buy one! Not sure about ordering one... I bought my Rubi in Jan of 07 off the lot - and was lucky to find one in the area!! Used to be quite a wait to order, maybe now it's much quicker.
