I have the one on the bottom w/the compass... it's on my CJ7... Compass broke shortyly after I bought it... so that part has been worthless. The clinometer has worked fine though... probably not totally necessary, but it's kind of neat.

Same for me ... the clinometer works fine, but the compass died a quick death. I have it in my '78 CJ7. I thought about it for my JK, but decided against it. Like others, I go by feel.

if i were to get one, i'd get the bottom one. but i assign different numbers to pitch and roll degrees. i call it a "pucker factor" and the numbers are 1-10

Are Guidelines available so that you are warned a bit BEFORE Sabretoothsqrl's scenario takes place. I have a stock X with 245/16s and no lift. Any ideas?
I am a bit wimpy about leans and hills. My gut feelings are kind of on the safe side.

Can't remember what page or if I had updated the front page with it but try this link for Jeeping 101...https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-talk-26/top-items-new-jeep-owners-7004/ and look for Hills and Rock Climbing.

I'll see if I can't find the exact listing in there but as I recall - it was pretty good from one of the senior folks about pucker factor!
