I, for one, waited for this engine. But when it wasn't introduced for 2011 I went ahead and bought a 2010 model. When the Pentastar becomes available for the 2-door, I will definitely take a test drive, and just might sell my current JK with its ridiculous 4-speed automatic.

To the haters: since Wikipedia states that the engine is used in the "Grand Caravan, Journey, Town & Country" it will STILL be a minivan engine

i'm waiting for the Mr. Fusion option.

a banana peel and a coke will get me just as far as rumours and conjecture. I prefer to drive my jeep in the here & now, not wait on some chance that something someday may occur that might possibly be better....

It is totally true. By the time that Jeep hits the lot you could have built and modded an 09 or 10 and had all kinds of fun. Or on the same side, you could just keep saving till the Jeep comes to you and mod everything all at once.

My buddy that works for a jeep/Chrysler/dodge dealer said that he feels no difference in the cherokee between the pentastar v6 and the the 3.7L. So I'm not really holding my breath for this super-new engine to be used in the wrangler.

My feelings exactly! I'm not expecting anything spectacular either.

I went ahead and got my 09 because I knew a v8 would be a long time away. I'm waiting for a v8, or a diesel. Another ho hum v6 is no reason to ditch my ruby.
