Jeep As A Daily Driver
Hello All,
I am new to the forums and have a very quick question. I have loved Jeeps for along time and I am seriously considering getting one. However, I have to admit I am really not one to go on the trails or climb rocks (although this could change once I have a Jeep in hand) Anyway, is it really worth it for me to spend the money on a Sahara or Rubi when for the time being I just want a daily driver? I am leaning towards the X. Any thoughts or suggestions?

i have dealt with this question in my head also and i opted to go with a loaded sahara. it was hard not to go with a rubi but with the amount of miles i spend on road to the little amount i may offroad i went with the ginger bread sahara. i almost went with an x but i know when i have it a couple months and the novelty wears off i would have wished i went with more options. but that is why i have been patient and saved more to afford the payments on the sahara. i well rounded x package would also be a good choice though lol
Yeah, the big thing is cost I wouldn't mind paying for the Sahara or Rubi if I actually got some use out of all the extras. Thats part of the struggle I am having with myself. I could purchase the X and upgrade as I go or just take the chance that I will fall in love with the Vehicle and buy one of the higher models.
I too rarely go offroad. I have the sahra and love it. Its got all the bells and whistles that I wanted. You kill two birds with one stone. A good daily driver with a kick ass sound system and other options and then you have the bad to the bone Offroad abilities of the JK.

I cant speak for the Rubi's because i opted for a sahara since i drive 240mi a day. The sahara runs just as smoothly as my other 2 jeeps (See sig) I would say they are quite cushy now as opposed to the tj's and earlier. some might say it rides like a mini-van (ducks for cover!)
all jokes asside. it rides a lot better than past ones but it certainly still rides like a jeep.

I have an x unlimited and I love it. It came with the infinity system, sirius, hardtop, steps, mats, spare cover, fuel cap, 4x4, s package, 17" , and power group. The only thing I wish it had was yess fabric seats. I couldn't justify spending extra for a sahara or rubi when I don't offroad much. I always wanted a jeep but needed a 4 door vehicle. Best vehicle I have ever owned.

???? The X is available with the same wheels as the Rubi...just painted finish not machined.
I have a Sahara. I don't wheel like a lot of folks but I do drive mine offroad a lot as well as a daily driver (hell offroad is my daily drive sometimes). I would say that for ocasional offroad use an X will do just fine. We got the Sahara as it was the one on the lot (in fact at that point the only one) that had the 4.10 rear end for towing stuff. Unless you wheel them I see no need for a Rubicon. That said there is a lot that comes standard on a Rubi that is not even available on the other two models however unless you need it for offroading then in my opinion it is a waste of money.
