Default Jeep Heights

Hmmmmmm,

Somethings been buggin me: and today I found out what..... why does it seem some jeeps seem to just site higher than others when other factors are seemingly the same?

Case in point:

The one on the left is a stock height Rubicon-- no lift and the stock 31" tires. The one on the right on the other hand has a RE 3.5 lift and has 33" tires......

Have I just been NOT noticing that stock older jeeps are not as tall?????????

Thoughts? Comments?

Yeah, the JK is definitely taller (bigger all-around) than the TJ. The Rubi also has 32" tires stock. You can fit 33" tires on a JK with no lift, the TJ you'll need a few inches of lift to do that.

BTW, those back lights on the Rubi are in a dangerous spot if it sees off-road action, maybe they could be mounted higher on the bumper?

In my opinion the 4 doors all look like they sit lower than the 2 doors (JK, TJ, YJ) even with the same amount of 'lift'.

The JK's are deffinately taller, my friend has that same 3.5" Re lift and 33's and I have a 2.5" lift wih 32's. When apart his looks taller, but side by side, we are almost the same height, though he has 1.5" more lift than I do. Granted though, he has more ground clearance than I do and that's where it really counts. Hard to tell in the posted pic, but if you compare the undercarriage, the TJ would have considerably more height than the JK.

Ok..........

Update and retake on the photo.......... yes, it IS reversed from the first-- best I could do parking next to the same guy.

So would it be mean if I went up to him now and said "HA HA- mines taller than yours now"????????????

But thought some would like to see what just a 5" lift with no new wheels & tires would do
