Question Jeep Jamborees.

I'd like to hear from folks who have been to one. I'm signed up for the one to Palo Duro Canyon next May. Any idea why they charge so much?

I've made it to one...I went to the Ozark one at SMORR in MO last year.

It was a great experience to be with other Jeepers and the event was first class...but, they are expensive...

Your buying a name "Jeep Jamborees". But that not all, the JJ have some of the best guides as well as often being on land that you can only get to by being in a Jamborees. Most also provide food. some even provide a Jeep.

What you are paying for is the experience. I have been on many trail rides,I have guided many rides myself. But I do enjoy the Jamboree experience. The only thing I don't like is the amount of vehicles on the trail. the "Classic" ones usually include lunch on teh rail (bag lunch sandwich!) and some kind of potluck/buffet dinner. Also, it usually gets you some nice door prizes, and that most jamborees have entire use of that area. Whne it was at Paragon in PA, the park closed down complete for the jamboree. It was nice knowing we weren't goingto be running up on any other groups. Also, they have acces to some areas that you can't get to, and a local knowledge that is awesome! That's what you pay for!
No is it for everyone...Nope! But it is a great family experience, that has lead to many offroaders.

I'm paying for the Jeepers Jambo on the Rubicon only because it's my first time there and I thought this would be the best way to run the trail for the *special* ocasion. I haven't gotten involved in a local club yet, so this is the best way for now to do the trail and the mechanical support on the Rubicon is another great plus. It's tough letting go of that much money that could be spent on mods though! I can't see paying for any other Jambo though.

Jeep Jamboree controls the entry fees...sorry I can't help too much with that one.

I am trying to figure out if the $265x 2 adults is worth the cost. I cannot a see that the food is anything better than BBQ burgers or something. I do think that the Jamboree expierence would be worth it once.

I am looking at going to Drummond Island in June. I know that the entry to that ORV park is $20 per day, so $40 for two days. Is the rest of it worth $490? This is a tough one for me to decide.

I don't know about all the other JJ but the two in Ky have two amazing men that will work on your Jeep if you break down. Max and Jeremy from Louisville Ky with Moab off road of Kentucky. They will work all night if they have to too get you going for the next days run.
