Thumbs down Jeep JK Front Axel TUBES

Ok, Here is my story. The JEEP Dealership and I are arguing over Warranty Issues.

STAGE SET: I bought my 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited from Fremont Motors with the lift, both bumpers, winch, Tires and Wheels installed

The Story: Two weeks after returning from the Easter Jeep Safari in MOAB I took the jeep in for the toe out situation ith the front axel. The dealer stated that I had busted the drivers side fron axel, they "replaced this under warranty" Picked the Jeep up on Friday, went bowling on Sunday noticed a stream of diff fluid coming out of the Passenger side front axel. Returened the Jeep to the dealer. A week goes by they call and stated that I had damaged it off roading and need to turn it in to the insurance company, WE DID NOT DAMAGE THE JEEP, NO SIGNS OF DAMAGE ON THE AXEL!!!!!!! Anyway the Jeep is still torn apart at the dealer today 07/11/2009 and they will not put it back togeather until I pay them $2900.00 UP FRONT, the other Jeep dealer in our area was closed by chrysler!!!!! Anyway, I still think this falls under warranty since they put all the accessories on, they claim that I installed UNAUTHORIZED ACCESSORIES so my warranty is VOID, Here is the catch, THEY INSTALLED EVERY ACCESSORY ON MY JEEP, THE DEALER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im sorry I installed the GPS and the CB.

Anyone have any suggestions, I have turned it in to our insurance carrier.

I would let your insurance company know the story....let them know that all of this was put on by the dealer and let them fight it out.

Wonder if they damaged a seal or something replacing the axle? Very questionable to me, especially since they just worked on it. Hopefully your insurance can help in some way, if not legal action might be your only recourse. You can always try Chrysler customer service, maybe they improved that after the bankruptcy now that you're part owner.

Now there is an idea. Take your paystub in and show them you pay taxes so you are part owner. Then tell them the owners decision is more credible than someone from warranty services....Now get this damn thing fixed.

They probably have JKs in the lot with leaking seals, this sadly is a common issue with the JK. If they so much as looked at the axle during the last warranty work they are the most likely reason for the leak.

For them to hold you Jeep hostage until you pay for obvious warranty work is a direct conflict of interest on the dealers part. I never understood how the dealer gets to decide what is covered when it is always more pofitable for them to decline. I always make it clear when I drop any vehicle off for warranty work, if it is not covered they must say so up front and are not authorized to take any action until it is cleared by me.

If they want to fight then they have to answer to me why the completed "unauthorized" work. They get to donate that work if they do.

Sorry for your problems.
