That reminds me of Spring Training in 1998 when I worked for a Chrysler Dealer. . . well in some ways. We didn't have explosions and it was a full line release and training all on-road not off-road.
Chrysler has events called Ride-and-Drives where they showcase their vehicles and typically have competitors vehicles there as well. You get to drive the cars to compare their performance to others and learn how to highlight selling points (strong points of your product versus theirs). Some drives are normal on road driving at normal speeds, but that year we had two nice track based drives with Skip Barber racing school instructors where we drove the crap out of the Chrysler Sebring and Neon on a closed track. We then drove competitive vehicles to compare their performance and handling. It was a total blast.
One guy that was there got sent home when he almost rolled a Neon after ignoring the race instructors commands while on the track.
Got to to a Jeep 101 training one time too and that's when I got hooked on the Wrangler. That ride and drive was during the 1999 Grand Cherokee Launch and we got to drive all the Jeep models on and off road. That was my best day as a car salesman ever (well . . . maybe not as good as the day I sold my first car but close).
I hope Chrysler shelved that Black Ops Wrangler after this publicity event - that's some hard drivin' and I'd hate to think someone would get that as a used program car after it's been driven like that right off the factory lot.
