Default Jeep Question

This has probably been bought up before....but i have a 09 jk and was wondering if its standard to have a jeep that has noticable different sounds coming from the motor and drivetrain...like clunking noises from tranny and notchy transmission shifts? Also different whistley type sounds coming from motor when accelerating. This is my first jeep ever, bought it brand new...now has 15 k.

Basically i wanna know if this is common issues dealt with when owning one.

My jeep does have 2.5" lift and 35's obviously causing strain to the vehicle but noises were there before the mods.

The clunking noise comes from the t-case and the clutch. Small clunking is normal. Loud clunking is not

Motor noise; you didn't buy a Rover or a FJ Cruiser, Jeeps are like that

I had a tJ and a YJ, it was worse

Welcome to the Jeep world ! Leaking soft top, broken windshield, DW, noise from everywhere, LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL

Put the doors in the garbage and have fun

haha, I was just thinking today that my jeep is just too quiet!

But I bet it makes all the same noises as yours, difference is that I just recently switched from a TJ, and almost all my vehicles before that were jeeps.

When I first took it for a test drive, I started it up, then it died right away. So I turned it off, started it a second time... and it died again.

I sat for a second, amazed that it could die twice in a row like that, then I hit the accelerator, and it reved right up... turns out it hadn't died at all, it just ran so much quieter than my old jeep, I thought the engine wasn't running.

My 09 X is my first jeep also and i've had it for a year. It took me a few months to get used to all the noises too plus my "freedom top" leaked till i got it fixed and there is also a whistling sound coming from my tranny area.

I took it to the dealer, they said all was good and welcome to Jeep!!!!

Its a good therapeutic sentence "Welcome to Jeep" to repeat when things like that happen,

cuz dealing with these minor irregularities is 100% worth it when ur driving in the summer, top down, doors off, or when your on the trail, in deep mud, water, snow and whatever else I jeep can do that other "off road" trucks can't.
