Default jeep scared the hell out of me the other day

I was driving on a pretty sharp curve out in the country and there was a bump in the road I've never found before. The jeep HOPPED up about 8" off the ground tilted to the right, bounced off the passenger tires and ended up back level thank god. I thought it was gonna keep going on over. I about crapped my pants.

I don't even have a lift or tires yet. Will a wider stance help or will bigger tires just raise the center of gravity more and make stuff like this happen more often?

a wider stance will help. I have 3 inches of lift, 12.50 wide tires, and spidertrax 1.5 spacers. not only does it look kick ass, its extremely stable. I have taken quite a few turns at speed (with esp complaining) and she was solid.

thanks for the response. It's easier said than done to convince my wife the penny pincher, but I just posted my motorcycle on ebay about 30 minutes ago, so maybe the profit could go towards lift/tires. (it's a nice Buell XB9S if you're interested )

If I get my way, I'd like a Terflex 2.5 coil and some 33's. I don't have the fundage to regear, and in IL it's flat enough for me to live without it. I'm still trying to figure if I can swing wheels or just go spacers.

I also had one of my dog with me and all I could think about was him flying out if we rolled. Crazy.

So why would you not even consider SLOWING DOWN to be an option that would help?

Edit:
So why would you not even consider SLOWING DOWN to be the ONLY option???

I agree, you are NOT driving a sports car, or even an SUV, you are driving a Jeep, they do not drive like regular vehicles and require a little driving skill.

Remember to all non Jeeps, Your SUV is not a Jeep and my Jeep is not an SUV.
