Unfortunately, the record was short lived. Two guys in a supercharged Suzuki Samurai have already surpassed the Jeeps altitude mark.

Its an interesting read with some incredible pictures, if you can get though the Jeep bashing intermingled throughout.

Great accomplishment, except the Suzuki was custom build and the Jeeps was stock except for tires and winches.

I have no clue why they changed tires. BFG mud-Terrains are just as good as Goodyear MT/R's.

The Samurai even modded out still cost 1/3 of what the new JK cost.

The Samurai team was 2 people and 1 vehicle on very limited funds, while the Jeep team had 4 vehicles (2 Dodge Power Wagons and 2 Wranglers), an ATV, an army of people and big time corporate backing.

Both teams made impressive climbs, but I'm much more impressed by the little man's accomplishment.

Yea, but it's a Samurai. I'll bet it doesn't ride as nice, have A/C, 7 speaker sound, plush carpet and YES Seats 3 piece top, roll over ESP protection, MyGig, room for 5 ...etc..etc...

I have rode in one, and man what a piece of junk.. (and that was new!)

Oh and the Wrangler was stock.

Heck, I'll bet good money any Jeep could do it as well with some mods.
