Default Jeep should by Ecoboost from Ford for 2012 Wrangler!

While some of us in here are lamenting the upcoming death of the 3.8 POS, others anxiously awaiting the Pentastar or a diesel, I think Jeep could save time and buy the new Ecoboost 3.5 liter V6 going into the new F150.

365HP and 425lb/ft torque!!! Twin turbo, direct injected. In a vehicle weighing only 500+ pounds more than Wrangler Unlimited.

So far, we are only seeing 265 lb/ft torque out of Pentastar. I'm sure DI and turbo will raise that, but when - and will that kind of power ever make it into a Wrangler?

O.k. - I am kidding about buying a Ford engine - just hope that Jeep sees this as the competitive threat (engine technology) that it is. Would make the diesel unnecessary (although I love diesel)

"365-horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque at 2,500 rpm. The engine makes 90-percent of peak torque from 1,700 - 5,000 rpm."

Nice engine - that's for a 3.5v6!
Wow.
