JEEP SLIGHTLY OVERHEATING
Hey guys!
So I have a 2015 JKU I got a couple months ago. I am trying to figure out what is causing my overheating issue. Now I will say its never gone into the danger zone its just gone over the half way mark on the dash but only when sitting long after getting up to full operating temperature or stop and go traffic, and then once I get going it cools down and stays at the right temp. I see no leaks anywhere in fact was changing out the bumper yesterday and double checked for leaks nothing. I have had a few suggestions on it possibly being the thermostat or even the water pump, but have no idea which it really is. Anyone got suggestions on how to trouble shoot? or even know what it is?
Thanks!!

Welcome to the Forum. Slightly Overheating? how many miles on your rig? how far past the halfway mark? Is it boiling the coolant out? OK. Turn the HVAC to AC and listen for the fans to come on; if they don't that is an issue. Due you have partially clogged fins on the radiator and the ac condenser-might need to hosed off - not pressure washed moderate hose pressure. If you have Jscan connect up and see the real temperature.

Check your owners manual for the cooling system flush, the correct coolant is 10 yr / 100.000 miles. You might Flush the system .. be sure to "BURP it". IMO I would just keep an eye on it; watch for going 3/4 or higher before searching for an issue. You could get a infrared thermometer at the HF and take the temp at the Radiator.
