Thumbs up Jeep Therapy

Feeling kinda blue yesterday so I decided just to get out the house and drive some back roads. Dropped the top on the JK just took off with no specific destination in mind.

One stop was the Denison Dam (Lake Texoma) They were generating yesterday so the flood gate was open. Go over the dam to the Oklahoma side and you can get right next to the spillway. There is a fence so you won't fall in. Spent 15 -20 min just staring at the spillway watching this enormous waterfall come down. 15,000 cubic feet per second makes for quite the spectacle. It was cool just to lose my thoughts in the sight, sound, and occasional spray of water.

More back roads just poking around listening to Robert Smith's top 30 of the 80's on Sirus 1stWave as late afternoon turned into early evening. All in all about 4 hours to cover a little more than a 100 miles.

Meandered my way back home feeling a bit better. Jeeps are better than therapy.

Thanks for reading.

I've always loved to drive. There's nothing like a beautiful day, some good tunes on the stereo and a long drive to... well, anywhere.

Well, when you get a Jeep, it's just SO much better! I took a drive today... doors off, top down, sun shining...

But, I also forgot to put on sunscreen. My face is REEEEEED!!! LOL! I have a very fair complexion, plus I'm on antibiotics which increase sensitivity to sun.

But, it's all good. I put the top down in a parking lot today, got in, fastened the seatbelt and said out loud... "I LOVE my Jeep!!!"

I was thinking the same thing coming home after work. Looking around at all the people with their hardtops and windows completely up, they didn't look happy at all. Then here's me top down and enjoying the sun on my face with the wind. Nice, and as I always say when leaving work every day is Friday when you drop the top. Thanks for sharing.

I find spending money and working on my jeep to be my source of therapy

With the top down and doors off I even enjoy the ride to work.

It's fun jumping in the jeep for a spur of the moment drive!!!! Cheaper than paying some professional $120/hr telling me I need to go on a adventure or holiday to relieve some stress!!!!

Nothing better than going topless, doorless on a hot summer day and turn up some tunes and wave to a few friendly drivers and go adventuring on a few dirt trails to explore some new area's!!!

Do you have photos of the spillway? It sounds pretty neat. I'll agree that Jeeps can prove therapeutic!

Driving the JK has to be the greatest therapy I know. I just go out and find a random side road that no one goes on and everything is great.

Topless therapy.

Sorry no pics. I'm not really a picture person. I'd rather experience and carry the memory internally rather than document it with a picture. I know it sounds strange and in this day of a camera in every cell phone it is strange but I can remember things done and conversations with friends from 25 years ago. I also see other people get so involved in "documenting" a moment they forget to enjoy it.
