The only part I don't agree with here is the passenger holding back the urge to wave. They could very well be a Part of the jeep community. Need to readjust your troubleshooting guide.

i agree because I ride sometime in the passenger side while the wife drives and I wave out of habit. She waves as well so if she is busy and can't i do it for her so that they know we wave.

I interpreted that to mean you were driving another vehicle. Say your wife's Prius. ;-)
