Recorded lasted a little over a month. It was topped by two guys in a supercharged Suzuki Samurai.

Bah! Thats not playing fair. Lets see the Samurai do it stock (save for Goodyear MT/R rubber, winches, and electronic altimeters) vs the JK Rubi.

Suzuki? C'mon - SUCK-ZUKI?

Jeep doesn't need the marketing help right now (with the Wrangler still selling as fast as they can build 'em), but that would be a nice record to reclaim. Maybe when they're ready to release the next big variation on the Wrangler.

Hell - with a strong enough winch and enough line, you could just have someone hike/climb up to the top, attach the line, and haul up an f'n Camry or Miata...

I want to see BONE STOCK verus BONE STOCK across the board. No winches, stock tires, hand-held altimeters... Let's see the Suckzuki beat Jeep then.

Seems fair to me......

2 guys financing their own expedition and building their own vehicle. total cost including vehicle purchase - $15k

vs.

team of 15+ guys with corporate financing, 2 JK Rubis, 2 Dodge Power Wagons, several ATV's - total expedition cost - lets just say ALOT more

I see what you're saying but the record sounded like it belonged to the vehicle, not the team that got the vehicle there.

Hell you could strip down a Scion and replace axels, engine, etc and it could make the climb. If the record is for a vehicle I think it should be the vehicle before replacing this that and the next thing on it.
